Maxwell has revolutionized the residential mortgage process by creating a Software-as-a-Service platform that streamlines the data gathering, validation and analysis processes for both the financial institutions and their borrowers. Maxwell hired Audit Liaison to assess our SOC 2 audit readiness and assist our team by gaining a thorough understanding of our security, availability, integrity and confidentiality controls, and identifying areas for improvement. We had previously created a set of information security policies and procedures, and we asked Audit Liaison to provide recommendations for additional control language based on the SOC 2 criteria requirements. Audit Liaison further assisted us by facilitating and documenting our risk assessment and preparing and up-leveling our Security Awareness Training ahead of the audit. Finally, Audit Liaison acted as our agent and guided our IT and security teams in gathering the documentation requested by the independent auditors, providing the documentation and necessary commentary on Maxwell’s behalf, and serving as liaison between the Maxwell team and the auditors during fieldwork. The streamlined process used by Audit Liaison and reduced burden on Maxwell resources were invaluable.
